Nobody Cares About Your Company Values

Values on a wall don't change behavior. Accountability infrastructure does.

Every company has values. They're on the wall in the lobby. They're in the onboarding deck. They're on the careers page.

Nobody cares.

Not because the values are wrong. Most companies have perfectly reasonable values. Integrity. Innovation. Collaboration. Respect.

The problem isn't the values. It's the gap between the values and the behavior.

The Values-Behavior Gap

Here's what actually happens in most organizations: the values say "we value feedback" and the managers avoid hard conversations. The values say "we develop our people" and the development plan sits in a drawer. The values say "accountability" and underperformers coast for years.

What Accountability Infrastructure Looks Like

It's the weekly check-in that actually happens. It's the 90-day growth focus that managers track. It's the feedback framework that gives people language for the hard conversation. It's the dashboard that shows leaders whether their managers are actually developing people.

It's not inspiring. It's not on a poster. But it works.

Stop investing in values workshops and start investing in accountability infrastructure. The values are fine. The system for living them is what's missing.

Your people don't need to hear your values one more time. They need to see them enforced, consistently, compassionately, and at every level of the organization.
